What Should I Do When I Pick Up the RV for My Trip?
You'll need to go through the electronic check in process. It's easy, just bring up your reservation on your phone (
www.rvngo.com/trips) and click the boxes to complete your reservation. You and the RV Host will be asked to check the boxes and take a 'before' reading of the odometer and the generator hours (if applicable).
The check-in checklist is as follows on your reservation. You need to confirm each of the items to get going:
- The RV Host Has Confirmed Drivers License(s) of Guest and Additional Drivers (upload photo)
- Exterior Inspection
- Interior Inspection
- Use of Exterior and Levelling Systems
- Use and Refill of all Tanks and Water Systems
- Use of Kitchen and Interior Systems
- Trailer connected with double safety chains, lights and towing mirrors (check if n/a)
- Guest Familiarized with Driving RV
- Backing up with Spotter Test (Guest understands that backing up without spotter is reckless and deductible for any damages caused is $20,000)
You should take a walk-around the inside and outside of the RV and document any pre-existing damage to the RV, just like you would do when you rent a car (photos with your phone camera are a good idea, so there isn't a dispute on who caused the damage). Remember, you're responsible for paying the deductible for any damage caused during the rental, so if there's preexisting damage you want to document that, and you should upload photos and notes of the damage on the check in form.
The RV owner should also fully familiarize you with how the RV works. Take your time, get it right, and you'll have a great trip!
We also highly recommend getting our 24/7 Roadside assistance. The plan will give you 24/7 support in case of breakdown and a free tow to the nearest service station that can repair the RV, but it also provides 24/7 support from RVing experts on how to use the RV. They will cover all your questions, from how to turn on the microwave to how the awning or leveling system works.
